I'm a bit late in leaving a comment but i did want to make one about analyzing 9/11. On one hand we have apologists who say "it is the fault of the U.S" and on the other side we have those who say "they hate our freedom."

I believe reality is a bit more complex; to say the U.S. is not blameless is not the same as denying the evil of the terrorists; nothing ever justifies murder. But the history of U.S. misdeeds in the Middle East (e.g. Iran in 1953, overthrowing the closest thing Iran ever had to democracy, to be replaced by a brutal thug who was obedient to the U.S) created conditions in which evil could flourish, and flourish it did.

If one supplies heat, fuel and oxygen, one should not be surprised if fire breaks out.
